Hate to trash food scraps but can’t compost yourself? Want to reduce your household waste by up to 50%? Not have a smelly trash bin? Get quality compost? Reduce your carbon footprint? Save your septic?
There are many reasons to make sure food scraps get composted and returned to soil!
You can of course also compost yourself! Learn more about there here. And if you’re looking of discount compost bin, check them out under the Steps to Take Tab above!
But if you don’t compost at home,
- Use WOW! If you are a Transfer Station customer, simply collect your food scraps and on your Transfer Station run, put them in the WOW (Wayland Organic Waste) collection bins. Read more about what you can bring, here.
- Have them picked up at the curb! Sign up with our preferred partner, Black Earth Compost, for a reliable weekly curbside pickup service of all your organics, including food-stained newspaper, flower cuttings, meat, grease, cheese and even bones. Here’s the full list of what you can put in the bin. In the spring you can either receive a voucher for a bag of finished compost, redeemable at participating Garden Centers, or you can donate your compost to Backyard Growers.
Businesses like restaurants, schools, and assisted living facilities can use this service too: email us at info@energizewayland.org, and we’ll put you in touch for exceptional commercial-scale organics pickup.
EnergizeWayland does not receive money from Black Earth Compost. A customer already? Use another vendor? Let us know how they’re doing by leaving a Testimonial here, or emailing us at info@energizewayland.org.
